THE GOAL
The goal of Compass Kids is for children from Birth through 5th grade to encounter Jesus & His word and apply it in a fun, hands-on way.
We are eager to work with your family to lay a solid spiritual foundation for your children so they can become resilient disciples of Jesus in this world. We recognize safety, quality Biblical education and kid-sized fun is critical to making your child's visit to Discovery Land not only memorable but life-changing.
Discovery Land is our children's ministry curriculum.
Discovery Land
Discovery Land (DL) is designed to be a FUN, ENGAGING and EFFECTIVE way to inspire kids to know and love God. It is strategic and purposeful, and it considers the spiritual development of children beginning at six months of age and continuing through their transition to middle school ministry.
The DL curriculum was developed to teach students:
THE BIBLE
The big picture of the Old Testament and New Testament as a whole, unified revelation of God’s truth to us.
THE BIBLE
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS
Salvation by grace through faith as presented throughout the entire Bible.
THE BASICS OF CHRISTIANITY
Life transformation through prayer, worship, evangelism, Scripture memory, baptism, communion, tithing, fellowship, serving, missions, etc. (complete list, by age, available in the On Track Map).
The Discovery Land curriculum is designed to teach children a biblical worldview. Each lesson is structured around what we call the “4 Rights”:

At 6 months old, we are teaching kids that God made them and that He loves them!
Preschool

Kids 2 years old through 5th grade are all learning the same lesson each week but at different levels to match their age. The Bible lesson is a teacher-led, classroom experience that brings the Bible to life for students. The Gospel is woven into every lesson.
Treasures

Treasures focuses on children of all ages with special needs during our 9 a.m. service. Our goal is to create a safe, fun and Biblically-based educational experience for all children while meeting their individual needs.
Walkers

We have the joy and honor of introducing our children to God's Word and teaching them about the one true God. We will discover that He is the Creator of the whole world, but yet He still knows, loves and walks through life with us.
Elementary (K-5th)

Runners

Kids 2 years old through 5th grade are all learning the same lesson each week but at different levels to match their age. The Bible lesson for Runners brings the Bible to life at a very basic level. The curriculum includes an age-appropriate paraphrase of the same Bible lesson that preschool and elementary-aged children are learning. The Bible lesson also includes reviewing the verse and a puppet script that reinforces the lesson.
